Richard J. Maddison B.Sc(Hons) DipBldgCons MRICS IHBC

CHARTERED BUILDING SURVEYOR

Richard has 22 years’ post qualification building surveying experience. In 2005 he was elected a member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation and in 2007 was accredited in Building Conservation with the RICS.

Richard previously worked for Storey Sons & Parker where he qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor. In 1993 he joined a Durham based Architects practice where he undertook a wide range of surveying duties and project management on a variety of property types. To further his experience in the Historic building sector Richard joined a building surveying practice in York where he spent 9 years working on a wide variety of historic buildings including Grade I listed castles and stately homes.

In 2007 he established Maddison James Associates Ltd. Richard’s work in regenerating the historic centre of Richmond was recognised in the Pro-Yorkshire Awards in 2010.

He is currently actively involved in the North East Branch of the Pyramus and Thisbie Club, as the secretary he co-ordinates events on Party Walls matters.

Karen Maddison B.Sc(Hons) MRICS

CHARTERED SURVEYOR

In 1992 Karen qualified as a Chartered Surveyor while working for Sanderson Townend & Gilbert at their Newcastle upon Tyne head office. In this role she undertook a range of professional case work and property management.

Karen then moved to Harrogate Borough Council in 1996 and held the position of Estates Manager, she had overall responsibility for the management of the Council’s land and assets, both strategically and on day to day issues for a range of commercial, residential and agricultural assets.

With 21 years’ post qualification experience she joined Maddison James Associates to develop new services offering client’s additional specialism’s in property management, planning guidance, commercial and residential lettings and grant writing to attract funds for sports and community development projects
